Infrastructure Asset Monitoring – SILLE

Environmentally friendly solution- less CO2 emissions. The remote monitoring system significantly reduces the number of trips to objects without problems. If the vehicle consumes 40 l of petrol when driving back and forth to one infrastructure object, it emits about 96 kg of CO2.

Government organizations use Sille to monitor and detect deformation of bridges for early renovation and helps to focus budgets to most structurally deficient assets.

City authorities use satellite-based monitoring to detect building deformation, hazard zoning, and rebuilding priorities.

Key benefits:
Cost-efficient. Subsidence and deformation monitoring is largely performed manually today by engineers who must go on-site to an e.g. a bridge or a dam and depending on the size of the structure and area, spend a few days, a week or longer, measuring levels of subsidence and deformation by hand. This is costly and even more so if the area that needs to be measured is e.g. 1km2, 10km2 or 100km2.

Case studies:
County water association, USA. Sille provides the regular slope deformation monitoring in remote and mountainous areas. The risk of landslides is hazardous to the water pipeline connections in the area. Sille provides predictive maintenance information so that construction work can take place in affected areas to secure the slope before a critical fault arises.

Department of Transportation, USA.
Sille provides the deformation survey for large infrastructure objects (bridges, lifted intersections, and similar) which are very difficult to measure with traditional methods. This helps the client to highlight locations that are most affected, which enables them to focus on affected areas and save on costs as a result.

Chemical Corporation
Sille monitors the stability of the production plant to find hidden deformation which can damage pipeline connections and pose a risk to the plant’s structural integrity. Sille helps the corporation to plan the demolition of the building and focus the maintenance crew’s focus on potential hazards, otherwise unseen.

Airport
Sille monitors the stability of the hillslopes around the airport for predictive maintenance, specifically regarding potential landslides, rockslides, and the quality of slope reconstruction work that has taken place. Access to airport territory is difficult and wide-area remote sensing saves on costs and gives the client a full, wide-area overview.
